Stay in Jaipur and Visit to Amber Fort Palace
On day three of our stay in Jaipur we planned to visit City Palace and Jantar Mantar first. And go to Hawa mahal if there is any time left after that, as we heard that there is nothing important to see there.
So first we went to Ram Niwas bag parking. This is near Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar. This is the best place to park your vehicle, when gong inside walled city limits which is called Pink City. The parking is huge and underground.
From the Ram Niwa Bag parking, we booked a battery rikshaw to City Palace. It took Rs.50. We reached City Palace at around 12:00PM.
There was a small queue at ticket window. I want to mention here that there are combined tickets available at all places of attraction. These tickets grant entry to all famous places, in its price. So if you plan to go multiple places during your visit then you should buy a combined ticket. The price is also discounted and it would save you hustle of standing in queue everywhere. It will save a lot of time also.
We spent around 3 hours in City Palace, there is an armory showcasing weapons used by various Kings of Jaipur and a museum showcasing cloths used by different Kings and queens. There is also a souvenir shop, but the items are very very costly.
We enjoyed the museum and armory a lot. Then we felt hungry and left the palace at around 3:00PM. While looking for a good place to eat, we reached Johari bazaar, it is around 10 min walk from City palace. There we found a restaurant serving Rajasthani thali in flat rate Rs.280. We did not found any other option there.
So we had lunch, and came back to City Palace location. If you do not know, the City Palace and Jantar mantar are just opposite to each other. So you can visit both places in single visit.
Even Hawa Mahal is at 10 min walk from there. We could not go there as we ran out of time, and it closes at 5:00PM.
After completing the Jantar Mantar visit, we left back for parking. And we stopped at Bapu Bazaar, for more shopping. I would suggest to visit market after evening, as almost all tourist places close at sunset, so you can utilize your time better.
At the Ram Niwas Bag parking we paid Rs.70 as parking fee. It is Rs.20 for first two hours, then Rs.10 for each hour after that.
From there we reached our hotel and this ended our day three. You can read the last part of this blog series here - Road trip Jaipur to Delhi
